Kanze Yoshimasa (観世喜正)

Yoshimasa KANZE (September 25, 1970 -) was Nohgakushi (Noh actor). Kanze-ryu shite-kata (main roles of Kanze school).

Biography and Personal Profile

He was born the first son of Yoshiyuki KANZE the third.

He made his debut in 1973 (at the age of two years and seven months). His first stage was Shimai (No dance in plain clothes) Oimatsu (The Old Pine Tree, Noh play).

His first appearance on the Noh stage was in 1975. His first Noh stage was "Gappo."

He undertook the teaching of Nogaku (the art of Noh) for NHK Taiga-dorama (NHK Historical Drama) "Komyogatsuji (Crossroads of a great achievement)" in 2006 and NHK Taiga-dorama (NHK Historical Drama) "Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan (as fast as the wind, as quiet as the forest, as daring as fire, and as immovable as the mountain)" in 2005.

He served as an instructor of Nogaku for NHK educational channel "A guide to traditional arts."

He appeared in the TV program "Pot of Beauty" 's "Noh Mask " edition.

He is a director of incorporated organization, Kanze Kyukokai.

He was an ordinary councilor of Tokyo Branch (from 2005 to 2010) and a special educational board member of incorporated organization Association for Japanese Noh Plays.

In addition to his activities of Kanze Kyukokai and kami asobi, he presides "Noh Noh lesson," "Noh Noh Noh" and "Yoshimasa no Kai (Yoshimasa's association)."
